Yogas and the National Organisation of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi (NONM) sealed on Friday, the 27th of October 2022, a strategic partnership that will among others see NONM members accessing reliable, clean, safe and affordable energy solutions at a negotiated price with flexible payment plan as Yogas expands its clientele base on the other hand.

In an interview in Lilongwe, Yogas’ CEO, Owen Macheso, said Yogas is very delighted to partner with the nurses and midwives as this is a way of showing their appreciation to the service which they render to the citizenry.

“We looked at the mission of NONM, which is to look after the welfare of nurses and midwives in Malawi. You know, nurses are people who are serving the nation through their selfless work to the citizens. So as Yogas, we decided to partner with NONM to complement their mission by providing affordable, reliable and clean energy to their members,” said Owen Macheso, Yogas’ Chief Executive Officer.

Macheso further stated that the partnership will help to reduce effects of climate change as more people embrace the use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) instead of charcoal.  

“Talking about welfare of nurses, this goes beyond speaking, lobbying and advocating for professionally, to their welfare even in their daily lives. That’s why when we had looked at the services that Yogas is providing, we thought it wise that we strike a deal with them to enable our members to access their reliable energy sources at an affordable as well as soft payment plan,” said Peter Mvuma, the Executive Director of NONM.

According to NONM Secretariat to access the products nurses/midwives who are NONM members should simply contact the NONM office of their zone and arrangements will be made for them.
